Learn through GAME.....

Building Game:

A game in which students were asked to build a tower with the help of square blocks, by putting one above the other to obtain the maximum height till the tower fell down.

OLD MANAGEMENT (OPEN EYE)...

Confused!! what Open Eyes means in relation to Management .... first GAME then LEARNING ...

After explanation of the game, we were asked to set target i.e. maximum number of blocks by which tower can be built. Various responses were collected from students having range from 10 to 30. After that a student was chosen from the class, who had highest bidding. Then he was asked to perform the exercise. Surprisingly he built the tower with 22 blocks, which was more then the target which he had set for himself, which was originally 14 blocks.

so what are the observations???
In Old management style/ Craftmenship one person does all the work. No distribution of work though the person skills increases but on account of productivity decrease.( In this example lets take 22 blocks as Productivity)

NEW MANAGEMENT (Blind Folded ) ...

Now the second team came to the arena. Ops I used the word 'team', Yes! I am start talking management concepts. The second team has team member consisting of CEO, Manager and the building block of the organization , the worker.
And the Management MOJO happened. The tower crossed the mark of the Open Eye case and even reached to the level of 25 blocks.

GAME OVER>>> LEARNING START<<<

Let us put pieces of events together...
In first case the work was done by only one person... means no division of work... but in second case the work has been divided into elements and decision making capability of the worker (blind folded) is taken away, we have managers for that.

And the results we got are really impressive, critical clear of job responsibilities (work elements) and great coordination results into the higher productivity.

So in Modern Management though the skill of the blind folded person doesn't increase but that leads to the achieving the objection which here was to have higher productivity.

SO GEAR UP FOR MORE FUN LEARNING ... stay tune... keep reading :)

Learning OR Lecture?

Tuesday morning, something happen which I never imagined would happen in a B-School
A thin, short looking professor entered the room as it was a garden and he was there for meditation, as he discarded materialistic chair and sat in the floor, also, made all student to sit with him on the floor, all the fringed professionalism now was sitting on the floor.

This was the startled moment which was full of confusion, who is this guy? Which class he is taking, as communication skill class was schedule? And this wave of confusion suddenly got another blow when two words ‘dhandha’ and ‘mandi’ came out of the professor’s smiling mouth (dam! do we suppose to study dhanda in communication class? ). But the veil of uncertainty and confusion was taken away, when he introduce himself. Now, we were in the world of Dr.T Prasad (proff. Mandi).

Where there is no place of book, class has no boundaries and experience is the real teacher. Let me give the same example, which Dr. Mandi gave to draw a hard boundary between conceptual mugging up from book and actual learning.

Newtons cradle gives and deeper understanding of the Physics concepts on conservation of energy & momentum (THINK! LAWS… SEE APPLICATIONS) in simple way than that to putting formulas on the board. This simple toy experience will never make you to go and search a book for concepts revision, why? Answer lies in the method of percipience, through your own experience.
Your curiosity must be why a professor, Dr.T Prasad, called as proff. MANDI?

MANDI????

Changing name were/is always be a knack of students, no but this time the name isn’t been given just by student but by media persons also, more curious??, see your answer….

NOW you tell me, Who is the Teacher??

  •  The Proffessor?
  •  The Books?
  •  Or The life?

What is the point of studying subjects when you cant make money ?

That hurts when you left a handsome salary and amass all your mental strength for getting prepared for going SCHOOL again, but the question is to the point and make sense..... SO NOW I M THINKING...and THINKING....

for action stay tune .... and keep reading....
